Description

Self-locking differential LSD plate type KAAZ for the following ALFA ROMEO GTV 3.0 V6 1993/-
for gearbox 5 & 6 speed.

High quality self-locking KAAZ made in Japan.
It has between 8 and 24 plates or discs, depending on the model.
The limited-slip acts as the origin when the wheels are aligned or straight, once there is a difference in rotation between the right and left wheels, the transverse axis of the limited-slip presses the discs, exerting greater pressure to transfer power.
When the blades are engaged, both wheels lock and torque is transmitted equally to both wheels.
If the input of torque and acceleration is smooth, the engagement of the discs in turn will also be smoother in its delivery, which means that depending on the type of driving, the limited-slip will respond in this way.
2 versions are available: 1.5-way and 2-way differential.
1.5-way differential. It is the most common and is recommended for all types of sports driving and competition.
The block in acceleration is more effective in performance, while in deceleration, it is smoother.
2-way differential. In this version it offers a total lock and a high preload, a more aggressive response, both in acceleration and deceleration.
It is recommended for rear-wheel drive versions to perform DRIFT.

The material used is steel plate, for the standard version.
There is available (according to models), a SuperQ version, it is a treatment (not coating), carried out on the self-locking discs to reduce friction and increase hardness, while the thermal discharge dissipates faster.
Different ramps available.
The self-locking is delivered with 2L gearbox oil.

HOW TO ADJUST SELF-LOCKING LOCK.
KAAZ limited slippers are supplied ready for use from the factory, in general the setting is between 60-70%, but another setting can be made more forceful or softer, simply by rearranging the order of the discs or sheets, as shown in the figure. diagram.
The same configuration must be made on both sides and in the same position.

Note. Knocking or metallic noise when starting or reversing, is normal in self-locking discs.
This can be noticeably minimized with the SuperQ finish
